STAFF REPORT ISB: Preston Institute of Nano Science and Technology (PINSAT), Preston University, Islamabad, and the National Centre for Physics (NCP), Islamabad have inked an agreement accord for collaboration between the two institutions.


Under the MoU, a formal linkage has been established to give boost to research and technical cooperation in the area of Physics. This is being done with a purpose to advance the state of science and technology in general and Physics in particular within the country and to bring benefits to both the sides by sharing resources wherever possible.


According the MoU, the two institutions undertake to pursue a programme of scientific and technical collaboration for the exchange of ideas, skills and techniques on problems of mutual interest and benefit. The primary areas of collaboration would be exchange and training of scientific and technical personnel for teaching, research and development in the field of Physics and other allied disciplines; High Energy Physics (Theoretical/Experimental), Nanosciences, Ion Beam/Accelerator Physics, Atomic and Laser Physics, Plasma Physics.


Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hafeez Hoorani, Director General NCP, said the main objective of NCP is to promote research in Physics and Allied disciplines in the country.


Dr Abdul Basit, Chancellor Preston University, spoke of PINSATs standing as a professional and well-regarded Institute in the field of Nanoscience and Technology in the private sector in the country.
