STAFF REPORT ISB: The modern day demands digitization of text books for e-learning in order facilitate students and uplift education standards.


Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is upfront in introducing ICT in various departments of the province. The PITB has successfully completed the project of Punjab government called as eLearn; thousands of text books, and supplementary resources have been digitized through this project. The students can have free access to those resources.


Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif said while commenting on the project, “More than 3000 teachers from different corners of Punjab are trained to access eLearn. The establishment of advanced IT labs in various public sector schools of Punjab will provide an opportunity to increase the computer literacy and use technology as their learning tool which will optimize the performances and overall results in annual examinations”.


The PITB has number of projects and commendable achievements since its inception to its credit. The most of the public service delivery systems have been made electronic to ensure transparency and improving education sector through use of ICT is also a milestone initiative by PITB. The counterparts from provinces in Pakistan must also seek guidance from PITB in order to effectively implement the advanced systems of ICT especially in education sector.
