STAFF REPORT ISB: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planned to launch a comprehensive campaign for the cleanliness and conservation of Margalla Hills National Park in collaboration with civil society, schools and the people associated with environment to further beautify its natural environment.


This National Park exhibits the green character of the capital city which makes it unique among different capitals of the world.


While presiding over a meeting in this regard, CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal directed the environment wing to make all-out efforts for conservation of National Park and up-gradation of the walking and hiking tracks.


He said that thousands of the people from different walks of life daily visit the National Park area to benefit from the natural environment and healthy recreational facilities in the park.


He directed the environment wing to involve people from different segments of the society particularly the serious hikers in this campaign to make Margalla Hills National Park more clean and green.


During the campaign different activities has been planned to raise awareness about protecting natural beauty of Islamabad.


Moreover, symbolic litter collection by public figures particularly the celebrities will also be carried out in addition to the engagement of students of different educational institutes.


The campaign would also include an awareness expedition in the Margalla Hills National Park, which is spread over an area of 31,142 acres.
