Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, PM inaugurated the 5th nuclear power plant, C-4, at Chashma holding capacity to generate 340 megawatts of electricity.

PM Abbasi express gratitude to China for technical and financial assistance to Pakistan and establishing the C-4 power plant, and two countries will collaborate in the energy sector among others as well while addressing the inauguration ceremony.

“These power projects have not been possible without the cooperation of China its people,” he said, requesting China to invest further in Pakistan’s energy sector.

PM said power projects like K2 and K3, are also progressing efficiently and soon be completed.

In the past eight months, its fifth power project to be inaugurated he said, that these power projects will soon resolve the energy crisis of Pakistan and recover the environment.

PM Abbasi vowed to eliminate load shedding after this year. “Ending load shedding remains the government’s top priority,” he asserted.

Since 2000, 2011 and 2016, Chashma nuclear power project units C-1, C-2 and C-3 were successfully contributing to the national grid, respectively.

K-2 and K-3, two large nuclear power plants, are under construction near Karachi and scheduled to be functioning in 2020 and 2021, respectively adding 2,200MW electricity to the national grid.
