STAFF REPORT ISB: Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) have a plan to establish a new display of ocean using modern technology and also establish live exhibits like aquarium, aviary, butterfly garden, museum city and field museum for research and public educational purposes.


Prof. Dr. Ashraf, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation, was told by Dr. Muhammad Rafique, Deputy Director General of PMNH, during a presentation to the former on his first formal visit to the museum.


It is pertinent to mention that Dr. Ashraf, a renowned scientist and earlier working as VC, Nawaz Sharif Agriculture University, Multan, took charge of PSF in last week of February.


Dr. Ashraf directed the PMNH authorities to renovate the existing displays of the Museum to make them more attractive for visitors and generate funds for achieving self-reliance.


He also issued directions for hunting of natural history projects having national and international importance to get acknowledged the PMNH scientists worth.


He visited different galleries, research laboratories and repositories of the Museum and issued directions for improvement of the infrastructure and working to make the Museum a vibrant research and educational entity as it already has unique displays like largest ever whale shark and Blue whale.
