Prize distribution ceremony of Essay Con 2019 held in Islamabad

The Winners of EssayCon 2019 were awarded cash prizes at an impressive ceremony  held at Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) on Jan 17, 2020 in Islamabad.

Prize distribution ceremony of Essay Con 2019 held in IslamabadDirector Riphah Institute of Public Policy (RIPP) Dr. Rashid Aftab, was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Chairman PCRWR Dr. Muhammad Ashaf, Deputy Country Director, Helping Hand for Relief and Development Rizwan Baig, Chief Executive Officer Technology Times Sayyed Paras Ali, guests from various organizations and staff members were also present on prize distribution ceremony.

The EssayCon 2019 was jointly organized by Technology Times in collaboration with Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources. It was the 13th one of Essay con series. The topic of the Essay contest was “Practical Hand Washing by all” Clean Green Pakistan will leave no one behind.

Arisha Rana got 1st position and awarded cash prize worth Rs PKR 50,000, Ramsha Panhwar got 2nd position and awarded cash prize worth Rs PKR 30,000 and Aqsa Waqas secured 3rd position in EssayCon 2019 and awarded cash prize worth Rs PKR 20,000.

Dr. Muhammad Ashaf appreciated the winners of EssayCon 2019. He gave overview about the concept of hand washing in Islam. He narrated the Hadith about the cleanliness.

He stressed the audience for the plantation of tress in your surroundings and give respect to plants till grow.

Sayyed Paras Ali gave vote of thanks to the partners of EssayCon 2019. He expressed his sincere thanks to PCRWR for making the event a success through their active participation.

He informed about the details of EssayCon 2019 that about 78 universities participated this time. Last time 55 universities participated in Essay con 2018.

He gave brief introduction of Technology Times and said that its aims to bridge the communication gap between scientists, students and general public.

He further that such competitions were vital for the popularization of science as fiction of today is the technology of tomorrow.

Rizwan baig congratulated the winner students of EssayCon 2019 and said that they were the future of our country.

He further said while addressing the gathering that we must take appropriate measures to save fresh water which is wasted due to leakage in pipes etc and damage our roads infrastructures. He raised the point about non availability of regularity body for water management in Pakistan.

Winners of EssayCon 2019 Arisha Rana and Ramsha Panhwar shared her writing experiences with audiences.

Dr. Rashid Aftab praised the winners of EssayCon 2019 and said these competitions are imperative to bring out the real talent of students who are the real stakeholders of the society.

He stressed that the policy makers must take seriously to handle water issues in the country and sit together to find solutions to handle this situation.

At the end the winners of the competition were awarded with cash prizes, shields and certificates.
