Mr. Hussain examined and corrected various problems with the Biobase fume hood, PCR machine, acid purification unit, NMR instrument, and thermal analyzer.

Syed Muhammad Hussain Rizvi was invited by the National Agency of Scientific Research and Innovation in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to audit the laboratory equipment for the Agency’s lab at the University of Nouakchott’s faculty of science.

The capital city of Mauritania, Nouakchott, is home to the University of Nouakchott Al Aasriya. The University of Science, Technology, and Medicine and the University of Nouakchott, which was founded in 1981 and has more than 12,000 students, were combined to form the university in July 2016.

Mr. Hussain examined and corrected various problems with the Biobase fume hood, PCR machine, acid purification unit, NMR instrument, and thermal analyzer. All of the equipment is now operational as a result. The end users at the laboratories were instructed by Mr. Hussain on how to handle and maintain the equipment correctly.

The installation of the powder x-ray diffractometer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, high performance liquid chromatography unit, and FT-IR will take place in the second phase, along with instruction on how to use and maintain the equipment.

This one-week expert visit was planned as a component of the expert exchange for the repair of biomedical equipment and the transfer and reintegration of technology under the COMSTECH-Mauritania programme.

Syed Muhammad Hussain Rizvi has extensive experience managing global projects. In Yemen and Sri Lanka, he installed and started up educational CNC lathe and milling machines. Tanaka Petroleum Analyzer for Sulfur at Afghan National Standard Authority (ANSA) and Optical Spectrometer at J. S. Foundry Kyrgyzstan have both been installed by Mr. Hussain.

Additionally, he installed equipment and provided thorough training to end users at an East West die casting facility for Ma alloys in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Awards from Bruker AXS Germany and an outstanding technical support shield from KRL, Islamabad have both been given in recognition of his work.
