Shamim Ahmed Firpo, President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), said while appreciating the efforts of Pegasus Consultancy for the promotion of latest technology and encouraged International Exhibition of Food and Beverage Processing Packaging Technologies event – Plasti and Pack and Iftech 2017 that is a big source of new and latest technology about packaging industry in Pakistan. Karachi has stood out to develop into the center of business and trade and technology shows once again after passing the fear and terrorization.

Aamer Khanzada, Chief Organizer, said while addressing to the event that Pakistan is saving about $200 million after progressing in the printing and packaging technologies so that no company should bring its material or get packaging of its products from abroad due to which the country is saving on machinery imports and services.

The participants of the exhibition were satisfied and said that they are having a positive response from visitors and trade inquirers at such mega event’s inaugural day. Iftikhar Allahwala, Managing Director, Speciality Printers Karachi, said that such events are the source of information and platform to get exposure to the business community.

For representing 350 or more companies from 30 countries there was a line-up of local and global exhibitors to participate in the B2B event.  The exhibitors came from Austria, Germany, China, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Holland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Pakistan, Switzerland, Turkey, Singapore. UAE, Sweden, Ukraine, Taiwan, United Kingdom, USA, and Vietnam. On the 2nd of an exhibition planned a high profile annual packaging forum.

The seminar had entitled theme “Flexible Packaging in Pakistan: Issues, Challenges & Opportunities”. Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, (PCSIR), Engineering Development Board, (EOBI), Pakistan Food Association, Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association, College of tourism and hotel management, (COTHM), Pakistan Dairy Association, (PDA), Pakistan Poultry Association, (PAA), Pakistan Chefs Association, Flexpack Association has supported the eminent speakers from Germany, UAE and Pakistan.
