STAFF REPORT LHR: In order to attract the youth towards science education, a week-long international travelling expo on Chemistry has recently been arranged at the Children Library Complex, Lahore.
The expo was jointly organized by the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), the Embassy of France and the Education Department Lahore (Children Library Complex), says a press release issued here.
Federal Secretary Science and Technology Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar, who was the chief guest at the opening ceremony, emphasized the need for popularizing science among the masses. He interacted with the students and advised them to learn science as the advanced Pakistan lies in it.
On the occasion, PSF Chairman Prof Dr Manzoor H Soomro briefed the audience about various activities of the Foundation for promotion and popularization of science in the country.
He said that the PSF is mandated for popularization of science at grassroots level, for which a number of activities including travelling expos are being organized.
Dr. Manzoor also said that Inquiry Based Science Education Approach “Lamain la pate-LAMAP” is initiated by the PSF in 25 Pakistani schools with the help of Academei Des Sciences, France.
