Pakistan Science Foundation manifests the World Science Day for Peace and Development (WSDPD) will be on November every year. Pakistan Science Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Science & Technology and UNESCO is celebrating Science Day and accredit a range of activities relevant to the year’s theme.

Pakistan Science Foundation manifests the World Science Day 2018

The upcoming World Science Day theme 2018 “Science a Human Right” to acknowledge the contribution of science and scientists toward development of society.

To manifests the World Science day Pakistan Science Foundation will arrange confined lectures, scientist conference, number of competitions for science students and an award ceremony. Aprox nine Sub-centers of PSF across the country will be actively engaged for arranging quiz competition, science exhibitions and debate competition for the science students.

Pakistan Science Foundation will award gold, silver and bronze medals along with cash prizes worth Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 to the participants for the essay, poster and other competitions. About 27 educational institutes are selected for the winner of poster competition across the country.

Young Science Achievers and the students selected to participate in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO), will also be invited to attend the World Science Day and awarded by PSF for their contributions in the field of science.

The World Science Day 2018 theme highlights the relation between science and society. It aims to create communal awareness of how science contributes to sustainable societies, international solidarity, international collaboration in science for the benefit of society, and raising support to encounter challenges that science faces today.

World Science Day theme is a good starting point for the scientists to better understand human rights and it brings focus to be familiar with the right of everyone to enjoy the benefits of scientific progress including the rights to health, food, a clean environment, and as the universal assertion of Human Rights.
