Pakistani students in a delegation consisting of 5 students left for participation in the Asian Science Camp (ASC-2017) in Malaysia.

At the University of Tunku, Abdul Rehman (Kampar Campus), Malaysia, camp held from August 20-27 said an official of Pakistan Science Foundation.

Every year Asian Science Camp held in any Asian country attracting 1000s of leading young scientists aged 16-21 years old from48 participating countries for this one-week activity.

ASC aims to highlight science-talented youths via discussions and dialogues among top scholars and technologists of the world. It also encourages the international friendship and cooperation among young students of following generation in Asia.

Pakistani young scientists were sponsored by Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) for participation for increased insight into science and its application by participating in ASC activities like lectures or demonstrations from leading scientists, visits to industrial sites, research centers, scientific institutions, world class laboratories, and universities.

Students will get a chance to share their ideas with eminent scientists and Nobel Laureates from this forum. This will pave new opportunities for youth that will replicate well for their future access to universities and employment opportunities, said PSF official.

Eligibility criteria for ASC 2017 are students having a date of birth between January 23, 1995, to February 6, 2001, and completed their HSSC or equivalent education with 1st Division.

Eligible to apply for ASC students must have age between 16-21 years and Regular Science Students of 3rd year- 4th year (BS/B.Sc.) or professional studies or Engineering or Medical (1st year and 2nd Year only) with at least 1st Division in board or university examinations with proficiency in oral and written English and having a genuine interest in science or research.
