PTA stopped action against Mobilink, Telenor

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has clogged Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) from taking action against two mobile operating companies Mobilink and Telenor.

PTA stopped action against Mobilink, TelenorBoth the mobile operating companies filed the pleas refer to the cellular licences issuance. The cellular devices licences issued on 26th May 2004 for a period of 15 years.

Mobilink and Telenor Pakistan advisory commission stressed that  “Renewal of license is our right.” And we required our licences renewal heftily as it comprised our telecom value.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has to decide on the renewal of licence within three months. IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah took up the pleas and adjourned the hearing till May 14.
