Telenor Pakistan has tugged back with Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) into fiber infrastructure and signed an agreement to backhaul second time in last 2 years. As result of an agreement the Pakistan market can have a quality telecommunication as PTCL will distribute footprint fiber covering more than 950 kilometers. PTCL and Telenor Pakistan sign an Agreement for Fiber Leasing second time in last 2 years.

This agreement will enable Telenor to use widespread and nationwide optic fiber footprint of PTCL and position their ability for maintaining and operating optic fiber’s network.

The ceremony for signing the Agreement was held at the headquarters of PTCL and agreement was signed by Irfan Wahab Khan CEO of Telenor Pakistan President & CEO, PTCL, Dr. Daniel Ritz. PTCL in 2016 has delivered to Telenor more than 900 kms infrastructure for optic fibers.

“We are pleased to sign an agreement with Telenor for fiber optic networking consecutively in two years. PTCL serving a backbone of communication from the very start will help Telenor to expand its 3G and 4G network in the country. This will give high quality both data and voice services to consumers. To have its part in the development of country PTCL will never stop fiber and other telecommunication development and contribution to the growth of Pakistan”, said Dr. Daniel Ritz, President & CEO PTCL while speaking on the occasion.

This project will be useful for the empowerment of society by giving access to mobile services to increasingly customers. We are also delighted to have another agreement with PTCL consecutively the second year. We believed that this collaboration will be mutually valuable for both partners and customers” said, Mr. Irfan Wahab Khan, CEO Telenor Pakistan speaking on the occasion.

The main aim of the project is to extend footprints to provide a high quality of both data and voice services to the expanding network of 3G and 4G subscriber base across Pakistan.

Senior management of both companies Sikandar Naqi, Chief Business Development Officer PTCL, Taimur Qadar Khattak, Acting Chief Financial Officer PTCL, Kamal Ahmed, Chief Digital Services Officer PTCL, Khurram Ashfaq, Chief Technology Officer TP and Bilal Waqar, Head of Sourcing & Supply Chain TP attended the ceremony of signing of the agreement.

The senior management said that the emphasis during the project is on developing cost-effective quality communication to costumers offering quality telecommunication services for the local market.
