Punjab: ICT based project planned for agri sector


Staff Report LHR: AgriHub, a project for integrated management for Information Communication Technology (ICT) based initiatives in agriculture sector of Punjab was deliberated. This emerged in a meeting held between officials of Agriculture Department, Government of Punjab and Chairman, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Dr Umar Saif.

Chairman PITB said while talking to the participants, “PITB remains committed to facilitate every department of the Government of Punjab including agriculture.”


Special Secretary Agriculture Marketing, Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah was also present on the occasion. He said, “AgriHub project will benefit a great deal in effective management of agriculture sector and better policy making.”

Dr. Muhammad Anjum Ali, Director General (Extension and A.R.) Agriculture Department Punjab also graced the occasion. He lauded the efforts of PITB in developing public service delivery system for various sectors and said that agriculture department is also keen to adapt ICT technologies.
