LAHORE (25-05-17): The Quality Enhancement Cell of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore organised 1-day training on “Optimal Use of Turnitin by Supervisors” here on Thursday in city Campus Lahore.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inaugural session of the workshop while Director QEC Dr Hafsa Zaneb, Dr Sanaullah Iqbal and a number of faculty members were attended.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that the role of QEC is highly important in universities especially in terms of improve the quality of education, teaching, maintain decorum and management in the lecture rooms. He ensured the participants of his commitment and support for academic activities and promotion of good practices at UVAS. He emphasized on the vigilance required of the academic supervisors regarding scrutiny of the post graduate thesis for plagiarism. He advised teachers to deliver theirs lectures on in time, teachers to be role model for their students, he added.

The objective of the training was to build the capacity of QEC Focal Persons about the use of Turnitin software. Dr Hafsa Zaneb highlighted the role of QEC focal persons in the evolving procedures related to quality assurance in DAIs. Dr Sanaullah Iqbal was the resource person for the technical part of the training. He carried out an interactive practice session about the basic as well as advanced features of the software.
