Rector CUI hosts the Turkmenistan Ambassador

To acknowledge the CUI Rector’s invitation, His Excellency, The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan H.E. Atadjan visited COMSATS University Islamabad aimed to enhanced educational and scientific cooperation and joint capacity building.

Rector CUI hosts the Turkmenistan AmbassadorUpon arrival the Ambassador invited Rector CUI to participate in the First Caspian Economic Forum being held in Turkmenbashy City on 11-12 August 2019.

Seeing that, the First Caspian Economic Forum in 2019 will serve as a confirmation of all Caspian states readiness to direct their efforts in this way.

Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar apprised Excellency of the cultural, linguistic, cullinary and genetic similarities of the Turkeman and Pakistani populations.

The Ambassador stated that Pakistan will soon benefit from the natural resources of Turkemanistan in the form of the TAPI (or Trans-Afghanistan) pipeline as well as a project bringing power transmission equal to 3000MW of electricity that will be part of the gas project.

The Rector CUI also extended to take the academic linkages between CUI and Turkmenistan to the implementation level and offer 100 scholarships available for the organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC Countries) to the Turkeman Ambassador. 

Moreover, both agreed and pays special attention to the higher educational and scientific cooperation taking into consideration the benefits of both countries involved.
