The Science Journalism Society of Pakistan (SJSP) has named honorable Professor, Department of Pharmacy, University of Peshawar, Dr Zafar Iqbal as its ‘Patron-in-Chief’.

Dr Zafar Iqbal will counsel the Science Journalism Society administration on science and technology and the associated fields. The tenure of the nomination will be initially a period of five years which may be extended.

Dr Zafar Iqbal has been allied with teaching and research for the last 33 years. A Higher Education Commission (HEC) approved supervisor and has an immense experience in the meadow of science and technology. For commercialization of the scientific products linked academia and industry.

Dr Zafar Iqbal obtained the degree of B Pharmacy from the Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, MS Pharmacy from the Punjab University, Lahore and PhD from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom. He has completed his post-doctoral studies in the UK.

Dr Zafar Iqbal has authored 120 plus research papers which have been published in the accredited national and international journals. He has also supervised up to 40 MS/ PhD scholars and received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from the Government Pakistan in 2016 for his exceptional services and achievements in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
