Seminar on Green Office Initiative held

STAFF REPORT LHR: World Wildlife Fund- Pakistan (WWF-Pak), in an effort to promote its environmental management system (EMS) called as “Green Office Initiative” organized a seminar in collaboration with Tetra Pak Pakistan. The project is aimed to cut the carbon footprints and make a bigger impact in natural and environmental conservation. The seminar was followed by training workshop on the EMS and familiarizing the participants on its significance in conservation of nature.

“The implementation of Green Office Initiative assists organizations to reduce energy costs, bowdlerized wastage and make improved procurement choices. In addition to cost effectivity they also benefit from a newly motivated and environmentally aware personnel as well as an improved corporate image”, said Coordinator Green Office/Environmental Assessment, WWF-Pakistan Nazifa Butt.

Participants of the workshop also exchanged their ideas to account for various challenges including water scarcity, food security, nature conservation and discussed how individuals can play their part in mitigating the carbon influx in the atmosphere by reshaping the lifestyles.

Number of researchers, professionals, students, faculty members, scientists, environmentalists participated in the event and benefitted from the information provided during the seminar. WWF-Pak remains committed to its resolve of conservation of nature through such initiatives that take place on frequent basis which is commendable.
