STAFF REPORT KHI: A seminar on Opportunities for Research Scholarships in Japan organized by Consulate General of Japan


in Karachi in collaboration with the Dean Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Karachi.


The Director of Japan Information and Culture Centre, Mitsuaki Tosa, was the chief guest, a spokesman of the University.


He welcomed the participants to avail such opportunities in Japan but also emphasized the pharmacy students specially to


grasp these chances in world renowned universities of Japan in different disciplines and technologies.


The event was started by a brief introduction of MAAP by Dr. A.R. Rajput, the Vice President of MEXT Alumni Association of


Pakistan where he mentioned about the motives and objectives of MEXT and the open available opportunities in Japan for


higher studies.


The speaker also put emphasis on the grasping of opportunities in Japan in various fields of Science and Technology.


Sadia Noor, the representative of Consulate General of Japan in Karachi, briefed about the current scenario of Japan and the


procedures to avail the opportunities on MEXT scholarships and other scholarships.


She also shared some websites and email addresses with the students from where the candidates may acquire further


information.


Prof. Dr. Iqbal Azhar, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Karachi, presented the vote of


thanks in which it was suggested that an MoU could be signed between the University of Karachi and universities of Japan.
