Supreme Court equip with ICT said CJP

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) initiated towards bringing revolution in the Supreme Court through the Information Communication Technology (ICT).

Supreme Court equip with ICT said CJPJustice Asif Saeed Khosa inaugurated the Supreme Court’s website, E-court video links and System and Research Centre in Islamabad. Addressing to the ceremony, he said, “The judicial system was moving forward with the help of modern technology. No institution, including schools and madrassas, could move onward without using technology”.

Justice Khosa talking about technological innovation said “I was astonished when my daughter told me that she had learnt about the use of computer in her school since class first grade”

Court’s website features and tools have been introduced such as an Online Case Search with the provision of complete history of any case of the Court.

The new website will help end-users i.e. litigants including the judges, and advocates. The main objective is to facilitate litigants as per the vision of CJP.

He further said that artificial intelligence is also being launched. The purpose using modern technology in courts will help in fast completion of cases, facilitation in effective decision making and will provide convenience to the litigants.

Supreme Court IT Committee under the command of Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has collaborated with the Nadra (National Database and Registration Authority) to launch a live video link between the principal seat and its four branch registries. The Supreme Court and Nadra have agreed to carry on cooperation for future  interventions in ICT as per the vision of the chief justice.

The honorable judges can hear court proceedings from the principal seat for any branch registry via live video link. Total of 138 cases have been heard using the video link in a short span of 5 weeks from all 4 registries till up to date. Recently, the New Judicial Year event was also broadcast live to all 4 registries simultaneously using this system.
