Telenor Pakistan and Inbox Business Technologies have signed an agreement to take digitization of Pakistani agriculture to the next level along with ‘Connected Agriculture Platform for Punjab’ (CAPP).

Telenor has proved from its track record that they are committed to shaping agriculture of Pakistan to advancement and continued their efforts for digitization of Pakistani agriculture by leading projects of the Agriculture Department Punjab and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) named ‘Digital and Financial Inclusion of Kissan’ that also has9 Android Apps for farmers in Punjab and smartphones

Telenor Pakistan had a leading role in the advancement of agriculture of Pakistan through various initiatives and partnerships with many of its industry. Telenor and Inbox together have the same vision and strategy to develop a digital platform for farmers the IT infrastructure, and a mechanism to train and help farmers through facilitation centers and booths across the province.

The ‘Connected Agriculture Platform for Punjab’ (CAPP) has an objective to revolutionize agriculture practices by linking all investors in the value-chain of agriculture but not restricted to agriculture input providers, research institutions, commodity buyers, supply chain services provider, and agriculture extension workers across the province.

CAPP program will also offer 3G/4G-enabled smartphones with free sims and data bundles to around more than 500,000 eligible farmers that will help them to fully avail this digital platform. Under the CAPP project, in order to create trained Digital App Gurus hundreds of farmers will be trained through facilitation centers and booths across the province.

“In Pakistan, around 60% of people’s families are dependent on agriculture still the sector has received very little improvements and address to its long-lasting ambiguities, ” said Durdana Achakzai, Chief Digital Officer, Telenor Pakistan while commenting on the development.

Our partnership with the Inbox is the component of the same mission. CAPP is positively achieving its goal and used as a role model for project replication in future across Pakistan.
