STAFF REPORT FSD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has set up the first-ever expo centre in Faisalabad in order to facilitate the researchers and industries to showcase their products.

The Centre is established with the funding from Endowment Fund Secretariat (EFS) on the pattern of Lahore Expo Centre, said an official of the centre adding it will start functioning from the next month.

Situated in the heart of the city of textile, the centre comprises 14 halls and provides 37,000 square feet covered area for the commercialisation of products and providing knowledge to the industry and relative stakeholders.

The centre has started working on commercial basis and in this regard, EFS-UAF has signed an agreement with China Pakistan Marketing Company for staging Pakistan Agri Expo 2014 here on May 28. The centre is aimed at promoting technology transfer to stakeholders through models. “The research should not be piled up in the library. It must be transformed into goods and services,” said UAF Vice Chancellor DrIqrar Ahmad Khan during his recent visit to the centre.
