STAFF REPORT KHI: Ammar Hussain, a student of the industrial engineering programme at the University of Management and Technology, has presented “Power UP”, a fuel saving idea using hydrogen fuel cell technology with an impressive prototype that was declared winner at the Institute of Business Administrations Grand Entrepreneurial DICE-INVENT Event at Karachi.

This event is conducted every year at IBA-Karachi and is considered as the most versatile and comprehensive entrepreneurial competition. More than 40 universities all across Pakistan participated in this event with a total of more than 210 teams. The competition was in four different categories: Engineering and Technology, Computer Sciences and Information Technology, Arts and Humanities, Business and Social Sciences, and Miscellaneous.As many as 19 out of 137 teams were shortlisted for final presentation. Ammar Hussain was declared winner in a tie with another project from NUST, Islamabad.

“It is a big achievement for all of us and I am thankful to my team and the UMT administration for their continuous support and providing me the opportunity to show my mettle to the world.” remarked Ammar, team lead PowerUp.

“There is a huge horizon in front of him and I am sure he will prove to be one of the finest industrial engineers of Pakistan,”remarked Azeem Iqbal, Founder and Chairperson Pakistan Society of Industrial Engineers.
