The first international conference on emerging trends in zoology kick-started at the University of Sargodha (UoS) on Friday with an esteem participation of academia and research scholars from different countries.

In the two-day conference, as many as 70 national and foreign scholars including Dr. James D Harwood, Dr. S Parakrama, Dr. Sami Simsek, Dr. Arshad, Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq, Dr. AR Shakoori from Biological Sciences of Lahore and Dr. Maqsood Anwar from the Arid Agriculture University of Rawalpindi shared their thoughts, proposal on the theme of emerging trends in zoology.

The speakers of the first day pledged they were the dominant species on earth does not mean that “we can do whatever we want without suffering consequences.” They said that not only do “we have to protect endangered species; we also have to protect species essential to the continuation of Earth’s life.”

UoS Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed showed gratitude on the participation of national and international researchers, scholars, and the students as well. He said that it was a first international conference on emerging trends in zoology in the university’s history which shows “our deliberate attention to meet the international educational standards.”

He said that UoS was keen to develop relationships with foreign universities and vowed to enhance the research cooperation with them and among the students as well. The vice chancellor appreciated the management of the Zoology Department to organize the conference on emerging trends in the field.

Zoology Department head Dr. Arshad informed the audience about the purpose of the conference on emerging trends and said that the conference was aimed to provide a platform for the scientists, researchers, academicians, industrialist, and students to share their ideas, innovative research, share experiences, develop collaboration and gain knowledge in the zoology.

It is to be mentioned that the Department of Zoology has organized the two-day conference on emerging trends in with collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Islamabad and Punjab and with the cooperation of the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF).
