Fulbright is the flagship fellowship award program of the United States Department of State. Fulbright awards fund graduate study in the United States for a Masters or PhD degree, including tuition, required textbooks, airfare, a living stipend, and health insurance. USEFP also assists with the visa process. Who Should Apply? For the Masters degree program, eligible candidates will have either a four-year Bachelors degree or a Bachelors and Masters combination totaling 16 years of formal education from an accredited university. For the PhD degree program, eligible applicants will have a Masters, MPhil, or comparable degree (a minimum of 18 years of formal education) from an accredited university. Pakistani citizens with strong academic histories, residing and working in Pakistan and committed to returning and serving Pakistan are welcome to apply. All disciplines are eligible except clinical medicine. However, applicants are especially encouraged in these priority fields: Energy (all aspects including energy sciences, energy technology, policy, mining of indigenous gas, petroleum and coal resources, hydro-electric power, alternate energy resources, energy conservation, etc.). Water (all aspects including hydrology, agricultural hydrology, surface hydrology, hydrogeology, drainage basin management, water quality, water resource management, effects of climate change on hydrology, etc.). How to Apply: A complete application package includes application form, three reference letters, GRE score report and photocopies of transcripts including an explanation of grading scale of university issuing the degree. Copies of most recent degree and transcript must be attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Incomplete applications will not be considered. Original application with references and attested copies of supporting documentation along with one additional copy of the complete application must be received by the deadline at P.O. Box No. 1128, Islamabad before 04:30 pm. Application deadline for this award is May 16, 2012.
