Waste water plant ready to operate

STAFF REPORT ISB: Secretary Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSandR), Seerat Asghar has recently visited the Bio-remediation Waste Water Treatment plant established at Rose and Jasmine Garden in Islamabad.


The plant has been jointly constructed by Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and Capital Development Authority (CDA) with an aim to clean the sewerage water of the city and use it for green belt that will help to save drinking water.


During his visit, the secretary was briefed by Director National Institute of Bioremediation (NIB) NARC about the progress so far done on the project, which he said, was ready now for treating the waste water. He said that the plantation around the plant has also been completed adding that the plant would be fully functional by coming April.


On the occasion, the Secretary was accompanied by Chairman PARC, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, Director General National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC), Dr. Mohammad Azeem and Director PARC Public Relations and Protocol, Sardar Ghulam Mustafa.
