STAFF REPORT PEW: The web-portal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government`s Right to Information Commission was inaugurated in a ceremony held in Peshawar. The web portal is created in order to ensure transparency, accountability in public sector departments by providing access to information to general public. According to the KP government senior officials, public will be able to lodge their complaints online as a result of the web portal and also track down status online.


The web-portal would enable the masses to acquire information about any government department through online request on www.erti.kp.gov.pk.


The Provincial Minister for Information Technology Mushtaq Ghani was present on the occasion as chief guest. He said while addressing on the occasion, “KP government is introducing advanced technologies and incorporating ICT use in various sectors for improvement of the productivity of organizations and this web portal under Right to Information is a giant leap towards progressiveness which will impact to great deal in uncovering the corrupt practices in public sector organizations through a digitized system”.


The applicability of technology requires serious efforts from government components with robust urge in order to effectively implement it for better performance in various domains of governance.
