Whatsapp polio helpline launched to ease people
For the very first time a great initiative kick off from the ruling government in consideration of polio programme. The launch of 24/7 whatsapp polio helpline aimed to ease the people in any part of country.
The Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio Babar Bin Atta announced WhatsApp polio helpline where people can ask questions about the polio programme, lodge complaints and report on children missed out on anti-polio campaigns in any division of the country.
The Whatsapp helpline number is given 0346 – 7776546. The users simply has to add the number in their contacts, drop a message not call if they need additional information about polio vaccination, missed children, misconceptions about polio vaccine and the complaints concerning on the services.
Keeping the consideration of propaganda against vaccination in Pakistan that people should not vaccinate their children; the government initiated this helpline on the awareness of polio vaccine so to avoid the malicious campaigns.
The Pakistan government had taken the polio team members into confidence that they should share the pro-polio vaccine drives with those community who hesitate to vaccinate their children due to the campaign.
So, the whatsapp feature makes it very easy for every lay man if they had any query or their division is missed to vaccinate the children.
