STAFF REPORT KHI: The WWF-Pakistan and Balochistan Coastal Development Authority (BCDA) have signed an MoU for the protection of coastal areas life which is exposed to the negative impacts of climate change.


The deal has been signed in the wake of variety of detrimental elements which may impact both environment and developmental activities, that need immediate attention to address their environmental issues and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities to local communities living there.


Under this agreement, both the organisations would work together in development and implementation of policies related to coastal areas through consultative process while seeking inputs from various stakeholders.


They would also collaborate in conservation measures including development of eco-tourism in coastal areas of Balochistan. They would jointly organise consultation programs for building their institutional capacity and share available information to broaden their knowledge base.


WWF-Pakistan will also provide technical assistance for ensuring development in an environmentally sound manner and incorporating protection of natural habitat and conservation of fauna and flora especially threatened and vulnerable species.
